Faster Installation

Install from the front in seconds with no tools required. Complete a typical network switch installation in under 55 seconds and save hours over the course of an entire rack build. Simply insert, tighten by hand, and you’re done. When you need to make changes, Rackstuds remove easily and can be reused again and again.

Built from Grivory metal replacement thermoplastic, Rackstuds are rated to hold equipment up to 20kg (44lbs). Independent testing by SGC Labs exceeded our expectations with impressive results: 46kg push-in strength, 92kg pull-out resistance, and 156kg shear strength. Frequently Asked Questions

How strong are Rackstuds?

The actual studs are made of Grivory™, a metal replacement thermoplastic supplied by EMS in Switzerland. Grivory™ is the closest thing you can get to metal. Grivory™ is commonly found in car door handles and wiper blade parts and is extremely strong and can handle wide temperature extremes which is why we chose it for Rackstuds™

Accordingly, we have tested Rackstuds™ to full breaking strain at over 150 kgs/330 lbs (per stud). The maximum equipment weight is 20 kgs/44 lbs across all four studs. This is to offer a satisfactory safety margin.

If you intend mounting shelves that are attached both front and rear, increasing the weight limit would not be an issue.

Is the washer necessary?
Yes. The yellow washer creates the opposing force necessary to ‘pin’ your equipment to the rack. Without it, your gear would hang on the Rackstuds™ with no support.
Won’t Rackstuds cause a grounding issue?
This question has been asked many times and is a complex one.
