Red Rackstuds: 2.2mm

The original Red Rackstuds are the most common and will accommodate around 80% of the racks in the market.

They’ll work with vertical rails meeting the following specifications:

  • Hole Size: EIA-310 Requirement 9.5mm/0.374″
  • Rackstuds Red 2.2: 9.3 – 9.89mm (0.366 – 0.389″)
  • Rail Thickness: EIA-310 Requirement: Not defined
  • Rackstuds Red 2.2: ≤ 2.2mm/0.086″ (or 14 gauge)

Purple Rackstuds: 2.7 – 3.2mm

The Purple Rackstuds are designed for thicker rails and accommodate specialised rack configurations in the market. They’ll work with vertical rails meeting the following specifications:

  • Hole Size: EIA-310 Requirement 9.5mm/0.374″
  • Rackstuds Purple Series II: 9.3 – 9.89mm (0.366 – 0.389″)
  • Rail Thickness: EIA-310 Requirement: Not defined

If you use cage nuts to mount IT, Pro A/V, Security or Telecommunications equipment in 19″ racks, you’re going to love Rackstuds. Suitable for most* 19″ racks with square punched vertical rails, Rackstuds go in from the front and provide you with a place to hang your equipment while spinning on the lock nut. This makes mounting even heavy equipment much easier; even if you’re on your own.

Install from the front in seconds with no tools required. Complete a typical network switch installation in under 55 seconds and save hours over the course of an entire rack build. Simply insert, tighten by hand, and you’re done. When you need to make changes, Rackstuds remove easily and can be reused again and again.

Stronger Performance

Built from Grivory metal replacement thermoplastic, Rackstuds are rated to hold equipment up to 20kg (44lbs). Independent testing by SGC Labs exceeded our expectations with impressive results: 46kg push-in strength, 92kg pull-out resistance, and 156kg shear strength. That’s real-world reliability you can count on.

Safer Operation

Made from non-conductive reinforced thermoplastic, Rackstuds eliminate electrical hazards to both you and your equipment. The color-coded design makes dropped pieces easy to spot, while the plastic construction protects your valuable gear from scratches that metal cage nuts can cause.
